I have taken a couple of skill- builder classes with John. I couldn't believe how much I learned and had my eyes opened to our first session! Great teacher and great training! Oh, and my qualifying scores for the army with both the m16 and 9mm have dramatically gone up! I shot expert for the first time with both this last month! I look forward to even more training! -SPC Higgins

Just took a second class from John in just as many weeks. I can't wait for his next class. Anyone thinking about taking classes from John should do it. John is a great, no nonsense, straightforward instructor.

Hi John! I was thankful for my brother, Steve telling me about your upcoming personal defense and concealed weapons permit class. You taught me alot of good gun handling safety methods and techniques needed to use a pistol to protect myself. After having some bad experiences in my earlier years growing up I'm very greatful to have been able to attend your class to help me put things into a prospective picture. Your training uses of real life situations helps one realize what dangers could be lerking around any corner and to pay close attention to whats going on around you at all times. Thanks for all your help. Denise

I took John's promotional T-Group class Feb. 19 with two other experienced hand gun shooters. We all agreed that John is an exceptional instructor and that we would like further T-group training with him. Things I like most about John's teaching method is that, in addition to stressing the key fundamentals, he encourages the student to experiment with creative but safe alternatives once the fundamentals are mastered, and he incorporates reality-based scenarios and drills into his training. Another benefit is to have the experience of John's extensive martial arts mastery incorporated into your learning where appropriate. The name he has chosen for his school says it all - Personal Defense Solutions!

John puts self defense into a realistic aspect! I’m someone that sees the importance of self defense and started taking classes from a military and police point of view. John brought me down to earth by breaking down self defense! I was using techniques that were meant for team combat situations, not from a practical situation suited for personal, individual protection. John’s techniques are simple but effective! All of his training uses real-life situations and he puts an emphasis on why an individual will use each technique! I have been around firearms and been comfortable with firearms for the past 15 years and thought I knew what the idea of self defense was! I thought self defense was getting a carry permit and I’m good to go. Looking back on that idea, I put myself into dangerous situations just because I had a firearm! It’s foolish to carry a weapon without taking this class. John not only has methods for weaponry-based self protection but has black belts in various martial arts. If you want the upper hand in protecting you and your family, there is nothing better than putting both in his hand-to- hand and weapon-based self defense techniques on your side. Most people think that these classes are for individuals, but my whole family took his class, including my two younger sisters and my mother, and couldn’t have asked for a better experience in getting prepared for any situation. Most instructors in this type of training have a hard time in adjusting training that worked for my sisters, but John has the ability to teach at any level. Taking his realistic approach, beginners and veteran users will find his technique to be at the top of the self defense world.
